Introduced in 2023, Spain's innovative visa program caters specifically to remote workers. Commonly known as the "Digital Nomad Visa," this initiative welcomes non-EU/EEA citizens to reside and work remotely in Spain for an extended duration.

This visa is suitable for:

• Freelancers, contractors, and self-employed individuals: Your work must be entirely remote, serving clients registered outside of Spain. A minimum annual income needs to be demonstrated.
• Remote employees: If you are coming from the UK, USA, Canada or Russia, your role is fully remote and fully supported by your employer, you may also qualify, provided you meet the income requirements.
• Those planning to make Spain their base. There's no longer a minimum stay requirement, but the visa brings real tax and Social Security obligations, so it only makes sense if you genuinely intend to live here from the outset.

• Full working rights for dependent spouses: Spouses of visa holders can obtain full work authorization in Spain.
