Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV)

The Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV), colloquially known as the Retirement Visa, caters to individuals seeking residence in Spain without engaging in paid employment. It is tailored for Non-EU/EEA nationals who have either a reliable passive income or significant savings.

Applicants must secure the NLV prior to relocating to Spain. The process involves applying to the Spanish Consulate in their current country of legal residence. Initially, the visa is granted for one year, with the option of renewal for subsequent two-year periods. After residing for five years and fulfilling specified criteria, individuals may be eligible to apply for permanent residency.
